Met the proud owner of this R80RT today.
The R80 kept following me around Arica - seemed everywhere I went, she had moved to the street corner I was at. Till I eventually met her owner. Apparently she's an ex-Police vehicle. Genuine 80,000+ km this baby was hardly even broken in but still had been lovingly (Chilean style) restored. I think that means bringing it back to the original colours? Only because the engine looked like it had made the full 80,000km. But then, everything here is rusty as hell. So who knows what it meant in Aussie standards?
Oh, and guess what else happened today? I officially got the keys to the Palomino's cousin. There is one small catastrophe in all this - we don't have a name for her. She's a sassy Latin American, cause she's 2009 G650GS red hot. :-)
Any ideas?
We set off to Peru tomorrow. Not sure how much WI-FI I'll get whilst I'm on the road. Nor how much spare time I'll have between the cervezas, being the Road Princess, and documenting the BMW porn all around me... So if it's a few days between posts from now on - bear with me. I'll be back soon enough! :-)

If it is red hot, it means it has an italian heart, even though it is a BMW. What about Duke? Or something that sounds more italian ...
ReplyDeleteWe thought perhaps Cervecita (a made up version of cerveza) but I keep stumbling over Sabrina. Don't know if it is Latin, but it keeps coming up. So perhaps that's her name???
