Sometimes it's a big world out there, but fate keeps bringing you back

Ever thought you could do something a little quirky and not get caught? Like stopping to take a photo of a gorgeous motorcycle down a dark alleyway, drooling uncontrollably, and get away with it?  Your little secret?

Blissfully unawares, and focused on getting a photograph that embodied the beauty of a lovely old impeccably chromed up Honda - I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard "Jewlz what on EARTH are you doing?" from behind me. To me, it was obvious what I was doing. I just never thought I'd get caught doing it by somebody who knew me. In fact, who on EARTH knew me down this dark alleyway?

Brendon and I met on the bus going to work five years ago when I first moved back from Europe. He was doing his French homework, I was looking over his shoulder, and eventually said 'Parlez vous Francais?'. Startled, he looked up and said, "er no, I'm learning". Our morning clock seemed to be stuck on the slightly late button and we inevitably became bus buddies, and eventually friends. We would share stories of our lives and adventures as we were happily tossed from side to side along the bumpy road over the bridge, smiling in our new friendship.

And that's how simple it is to forge a friendship in a city. Soon after, we added Sally. She is Brendon's neighbour. Before we knew it, a small community was created, centered around our morning bus commute.  We would have BBQ's and hang out on weekends. Meet on the bus, or go to events together. It was fun having nothing in common except our bus trips to work - cause we had to work on our friendships, adding colour and depth.

When I stopped catching the bus and restarted riding my bicycle to work, I missed out on meeting up with Sally and Brendon. Our worlds slowly moved away from one another.  We all still live in the same area. Sally and Brendon still catch the bus together.  More so these days, we will see each other in random circumstances, like tonight's impromptu photo shoot of this impeccable retro Honda.
